Supporting Schools

Developing digital capability is an essential skill in today's world, necessary for long-term success in work, learning and life.

The Digital Literacy Licence enables schools to provide an engaging program that is aligned with the national curriculum and Australian Digital Capability Framework that delivers strong improvement outcomes for students.

Why do teachers love DLL?

Being digitally literate and capable is as important as baseline literacy and numeracy. However, it is often assumed that young people, being classified as digital natives, can perform all the digital functions they need without specific instruction. The growing digital skills gap is proving this to be incorrect with many employers citing that school leavers do not understand some of the foundational concepts such as file management, email etiquette and cyber safety to the standard required in the workplace.

Curriculum Aligned

The importance of Digital Literacy as an essential skill is enshrined in the Australian Curriculum as a General Capability as well as the Australian Digital Capability Framework.

We’ve taken away the guesswork in how to address these frameworks with a ready-to-go package of learning.

Due to the depth of instruction and the self-paced nature of DLL, students can progress through it at their own speed. This lifts the burden on teachers, who won’t be required to do any additional work preparing lessons or marking assessments.

Students can relate to the characters, case studies and scenarios that are presented to build their digital confidence. The engaging lessons are designed for students to interact and apply the new knowledge to their own personal situations.

Self-Paced & Authentic

Our resources enable any teacher to deliver the Digital Literacy Licence. This frees up the school’s digital specialist teachers to play a role in supporting other teachers to develop their digital capability, meaning the school doesn’t need as many specialist teachers for the delivery of this fundamental skill set.

Affordable & Reliable

  • “We’re pleased students will be able to access online resources for education and career development. Additionally, the students are better equipped to use digital technologies in their everyday lives. As eLearning Head of Department and Digital Technologies teacher, I’m glad to see a product that is assisting the students and teachers with this content in an ever-changing landscape.”

  • “The Digital Literacy Licence (DLL) has been a great inclusion in our skilling programs. As an online microcedential program, this has assisted participants to have the flexibility to complete this section of the program at their own pace. SQW allows us to provide additional support to the participants where necessary. We’re hoping to tailor the individual learning needs as much as possible to obtain the best outcome for the participant, the government investment and industry.

We look forward to introducing DLL into all of our training programs and initiatives to ensure we’re taking everyone on the digital transformation journey with us.”
